Our Program

  • Program fee: $375.00.
  • Eligibility: Must be an Oregon Expanded Functions Dental Assistant and currently employed in a dental office.
  • This Oregon Board of Dentistry approved 6-hour course includes lecture and clinical instruction. Participants place pit and fissure sealants on a typodont mounted on a manikin, allowing them to practice indirect vision and proper technique.
  • After completing the course, students must document clinical experience by applying sealants at their employer’s office on patients under the indirect supervision of a licensed dentist. They are required to successfully place sealants on at least two fully erupted molar or premolar teeth in accordance with the dentist’s prescription, and an Oregon licensee must evaluate the completed sealants before the patient is dismissed. Students will then receive the Oregon Credential Certificate in Placement of Pit and Fissure Sealants.
  • This course is offered on an ongoing basis with Friday sessions available. Once the program fee is received, students will be contacted to schedule their specific date.
